END OF THE LEGENDARY ‘MASTER BLASTER’S’ ILLUSTRIOUS CRICKETING ERA

About one and a half decades ago, the main reason why the cricket loving fraternity thronged to see our matches was to see in particular the flamboyant manner, the ‘Master Blaster’ Sanath Jayasuriya batted. In the 1996 World Cup series which Sri Lanka won, Sanath Jayasuriya was named the’ Man of The Series’. Sanath Jayasuriya in the  recent past went beyond his cricketing abilities to take up politics. He is presently a Member of Parliament from his native birth place, Matara District. Today he participates in his  farewell ODI match against England due to commence at 5.30 p.m. local time.
